all vehicles produced after 95 use 134a refrigerant. the problem with refilling the system yourself is that to properly refill the system, you need to vacuum the AC system out and have a vacuum in the system. then you can refill the system to the correct amount. yeah, it costs money, but have a shop refill your ac. their equipment can put the right amount of both refrigerant and oil in the system. you can do a dye test yourself, there are kits on the market to do this for a relatively cheap price.
