First of all...why buy only a 2001 with such high mileage?? Why not a 2005 or later; that I have seen for not much more?
Even though you are a good mechanic, why ask for so much upkeep?
Secondly..you'll barely get "nearly" 30 MPG on the highway. I have a 2006 Touring, NA, 5-Speed, AirRaid intake system, with over 13,000...and have only gotten that one time, mostly a highway trip and downwind!! Probably only get around 25 MPG around town in my daily driving.
But the NA 5-speed is the way to go for the best mileage. I won't ever see but 25-27 on my turbo vert!
