You are correct I posted in the turbo forum specifically for thast reason, the turbo has rear discs for service brakes but inside the recessed portion of the disc is an area for brake shoes to opperate like just like a normal drum brake only smaller.

Toyota/Lexus have been doing this set up since the early 90s and Chrysler obviously adopted it at some point since then.
