I may not be much help but I have heard that the pt has a two stage fan and that may be your problem the one speed may be coming on to cool off the system but the other speed may be for the a/c cooling and it may be that speed is burned out and not working
so you may just need a new fan but I am sure others will come alone and add to my comment
