Traction.
I have done about 50 passes at the track and found that in the stock configuration the car made 2.25 sec at the 60 feet mark, with the Hallman boost controller made 2.53 sec. This means that because the turbo is spooling so fast, it makes the tires loose traction and slows you down. You percieve that it is at the 70MPH that he is blowing you by, but in reality he is doing it long before that mark. remember, he has to gain those .3 seconds and then make up the lost track to catch you with should be happening just before the 1/8 mark at the strip.
With the controller I was reaching the 1/8 mark at 72 MPH and at the 1/4 mile I was pasing the lights at 89.8 MPH with an ET of 15.4 sec with a 2.53 sec at the 60 foot mark, this is where I need to improve. If I lower the 60 foot mark to 2.1 (.2 improvement), I could make 14.9 or 15.00 at the 1/4 mile.
In closing, if you install a two stage boost controller in your car and take of with just 8PSI or lower and change to 14 PSI in second gear and up he will never catch you.

I totally agree; however, my friend has 1/4mile passes that are for to numerous to enemuerate. Having said that, he would've realized the traction problem and told me about it, so I don't think traction is the problem in this case. I could be wrong.[:I]
