Wow... thats really a cool sounding alarm! I'll have to look for one of those.
I've always kept my cubby empty, but I think that I be using it for my iPod now with the new input jack. I think i might have to put someof that non-slip surface down though, I'd rather not have my iPod going flying when I go round a corner! (I lost a sunpass that way)
