Default Re: Why does 05 cost more than 07

I never even considered a PT Cruiser until they redesigned them in 06. I prefer modern with a retro touch, not just plain old with those afterthought looking bumpers. The new 06+ also have better sound deadening and most of the issues that plagued or nagged 2000-2005 owners were ironed out. The new ones have much more potential for a VIP treatment to get more of a luxury car look.

Back to the original question, I don't know why they're cheaper but I have noticed it as well. My 07 was $13K brand new and a Seargent I was talking to last week ... his wife bought a slightly used 07 for $10.5K. I've seen 06 stick shifts with under 20K miles for under $10K. The Consumers Reports for 06+ is MUCH better than 00-05. The seat material ain't pretty, but at least it's fairly monotone ... so it doesn't jump out at you.
