$400 is actually not too bad considering the work going into it. I'm assuming you didi the teardown/rebuild yourself..? How many hours (estimated?)
So if you're running higher compression now (you said something in the range of 10.5:1) you will probably have to run 89 or 91 octane minimum correct? Or have you continued to run 87 and not had detonation problems?
Sounds like the amount of head you removed was a pretty standard port job. I've been considering picking up a used head from a bone yard and having that done while my PT stays on the road.
I'm also curious about your cams from Crane:
What cam did you buy? (do you have a web link?)
What were the lift/duration numbers versus what the stock NA PT has?
I see (in your photos) that the PT pistons are Tir-angle topped with valve releifs. How did you know how much head to deck off without crashing the pistons into open valves?
How do you think your mileage has been affected with the new cams & porting?
Lots of questions I know, but since you've already been through what I was thinkning of doing, you're my template right now dude!
Thanks,
Tom
