Question Spark plugs and wires - what works well for PT's?

Hi Mopar brethren,

I just reached the 50k mark on my 2003 n/a PT. I'm doing pretty well in the mileage department using some hypermiling techniques (regularly getting 27-28 MPG) but I'm looking for more.

I've seen some guys talk about improved performance from new plugs and plug wires. Since mine are still the orignial factory stuff, I'm guessing (along with other 50k service items) it's past time for new plugs/wires.

So what plugs and wires do you guys like? And where do you buy them? (links!) I'm not trying to get "pretty" wires, just the most functional ones. As for plugs, well I want the best bang for the buck. I'm thinking platinum or NGK's...but I've also heard copper works well for PT's.

What do you guys like? What has worked best for those of you who have played with this?

How about plug gapping? What does the manual say? What do you guys gap at?

Tom
