I take it that you didn't completely unhook the intake manifold from everything? Otherwise, why bungee it up to the hood?
I'm thinking that if my mechanic won't (or doesn't) work on PT Cruisers, more importantly, won't put in the plugs/wires that I want, then I'll do this myself.
Like someone else (I can't remember his name right off-hand) I'm more a computer geek than a mechanic. Although on the older cars (read '60's and '70's) I did learn quite a bit about rebuilding an engine. Just never learned it on the newer cars. Plus, I live in an apartment, so I would have to do this on the city parking lots.
