Not sure making a cover will work well. The LED board is kinda thick. It takes some time and you have to be careful but cutting the OEM mirrors and putting the LED inside is easy enough. But you probably do need the small rotary cutters/sanders. Then all you do is use some silcone to hold the LED inside. Easy. And you can even see the LEDs working at night because the light shines out the rear side a little bit.
I have gotten usted to the smaller AM mirror and it is OK now. Still can't make it adjust with its motor, but have not tried for a while.
