Very few problems with the air-conditioning system turn out to be electrical. Usually, it's a loss of coolant that the high pressure valve senses and turns off the compressor. Why not have it checked out at a shop that specializes in auto air-conditioning? A lot of shops do the diagnostics for free hoping to make the money when you ask them to fix it. If it's just a matter of topping up the fluid it shouldn't cost much.
