You really can't screw it up, but actually, if your still going to have the detailing done professionally, I'd just tell them about the spots and they'll be able to take them out for you. Don't buy anything extra if your still going to take it in.

Of course all that depends on how deep the water spots went into the paint. If it was acid rain, and left to sit on the paint for awhile, you might not be able to get rid of them with re-painting.
