OK, here I go again. Two things happened today that prove how stupid this country is
1) From the Baltimore Sun Newspaper: A guy from Laurel Maryland had his 1996 VW converted so it uses USED cooking oil. He made a deal with a Chinese restaurant to pick up their used oil once a week. The restaurant saves money by not having to pay for the used oil to be taken away, the guy with the VW was happy as heck UNTIL both Maryland and the FEDS sent him notices that he's breaking the law. Maryland says he's not paying his 24 cents per gallon tax plus he doesn't have a $1000 bond for a special fuel license. The FEDS says they don't know what kind of pollution the VW is putting out plus there's an actual law that prohibits running vehicles on used vegetable oil. Owners of these cars can be fined $2,750.00 plus garages or companies that convert vehicles to run on vegetable oil are subject to federal fines of $32,000.00 per vehicle. Lets here it for stupid State and Government regulations.
2) If you read the paper or listen to the news you'll know that today, in Colombia, a number of foreign and U.S. hostages were rescued from more than 5 years in captivity by the FARC. A joint effort by the Colombian and U.S. authorities. Great Job, although they say they have been working on this rescue plan for 5 years.

Anyway, here's my gripe .....the news is reporting how they did it. How they infiltrated the FARC and how the plan went to bring the hostages home. They gave the details to everybody.
Don't they think the FARC will go out and take more hostages and treat them a little worse than the ones that got away? Shouldn't we keep the details a little to ourselves in case it happens again..and it probably will?
OK that's it. I welcome comments.
