I wonder if it's the magnum we have in our Sheriff's office. The deputies that use it as their car had a hand in designing it. They do use it as their patrol car but don't own it outright. Maybe that's what the article meant. Here's pictures but they are small and don't do it justice. Up close the whole car is covered with Diamond Plate graphics and then Sheriff and D.A.R.E. graphics are put on top of that.
Our officers and deputies were allowed to take their cars home and use them for personal transportation. The more visible patrol cars are on the streets the lower the crime rate (and our county has the second lowest in crime rate statistics of all 67 counties in Florida). I say "were" because they just stopped the part of using the cars for personal use (they can still take them home) because of the cutbacks with the economy.
