Yes, that does work to get rid of smell (I do the same). What I was referring to is checking the evaporator core for dog hair, dirt, etc. Things that clog it up. There have been several posts on this thread wanting to figure out how to check it for blockage.

I thought I put in my message I was listing the parts of the instructions for getting rid of the smell that would apply to getting to the evap. to check it for debris.
