How timely! Mine just popped loose on the 2006 GT vert, The Black Sheep, this weekend. We were at the Midwest Regional PT event, and I had a few fellow Cruiser help me pop it back down. But, it didn't stay there. The next time I put the top back up, it popped up again.
My vert was purchased used on the Left Coast last NOvember, and only has about 14K miles on it.
**Looks like 1 or 2 of the retaining screws tore loose from their positions in that trim (you have to look down the inside). And there seems to be another small trim edge below it, that was forced down out of sight when the top was going down.
I will be at the dealer next Monday to replace the battery connector (another post about "corrosion"), and the service manager wants to look at it first before he orders any parts. My guess is there will be two trim pieces ordered and replaced. And, that it isn't going to be easy access to fix!
