Kforce,
Not that I'm aware of, at least not in the way your thinking.
A few years ago one of our local Master Mechanics on the PT forums developed a way of improving the shift between first and second gear on 2001 and 2002 automatic trans cruisers.
The way the trans is designed, when it shifts between first and second (not sure about the other gears) the computer shuts the injectors off for a split second and I think also retards the timing for that split second too. It does this for a smooth transition between gears.
MX-5 (local guru) designed a way to do away with the injector and timing cutoff by a simple method of cutting one wire. It doesn't hurt anything and actually gives you a better/faster shift that you can feel. Many of us have done it with no bad results. I did it to mine years ago and tens of thousands of miles and have forgotten all about it till you asked. Here's a link for another forum describing the procedure. If you still don't understand it come back and ask questions. I'm always here.
