Re: Temporary losing oil pressure
Sqworley,
Welcome to the forum.
Unlike just guessing at a lot of different things that it could be; You'll have to get under the car and clean as much of the undercarriage as you can before trying to find the leak. Your right about it only leaking under pressure when the cars running because if it was anything else (a hole somewhere) then the oil would be everywhere underneath and on the ground.
Once you clean everything off the best you can. Then you have to run the car around for maybe a day (or less) and then look to see if you can find where the leak is.
There a lot of turbulence underneath the car and will push the oil all over the place if left long enough so that's why you have to get under there and see where it's coming from before too long a time has past.
P.S. The oil pump is on the bottom of the engine inside the oil pan so that couldn't case the leak.
