alternator output voltage
I have a 2001 PT Cruiser, whose battery has gone dead twice in the last few months. The first time, I replaced the battery with a new one. The second time, a car shop recommended a new alternator, so I had one put in. Well, a few weeks later, the battery went dead again. So we went to another shop and they discovered a 665 MA draw at the battery. Wen fuse No. 18 was pulled, the draw disappeared. I would like to know if an alternator output of 13.1 volts at 1500 rpm is within specs.
Did the shop who put the alternator in throw a part at the problem? Was my alternator good after all? Please help!!! Can someone please send me a link to the factory specs (on an alternator for the Cruiser)?
