Default Re: 5 Speed Shifter Linkage

Ok! Here are the pics of the airbox mod and the shifter linkage fixwith some loose instructions, if you want more, just ask or PM me.

LINKAGE FIX
What it does: Gives a much firmer shift and better, sportier feel through the handle
What you need: I used a flexible nylon loop, a nut of with the correct diameter hole, a large washer and a loop of coat hangar wire

1. Take out the old bushing(perished and broken in my case)

2. Place the nut over the peg on the transmission end of the linkage (it should be a snug fit, but not binding)

3. Trim the nylon strip to fit around the outside of the nut so that it fits snugly but again, don't force it too much.

4. Spiral the nylon strip inside of the linkage loop so that it makes a surround for the nut

5. Assemble the end of the linkage and place the large washer over the loop

6. Lock it all down with a loop of coat hangar wire using pliers to twist it

... And now the airbox mod.

Just pull out the two snorkels and fill the weird front cavity of the aribox lid with foam!

(^The foam is uncured there, it expanded more and i cut the surface nice and smooth)
