I would not accept delivery of a GT with a front license plate torqued on by the dealership. Had I known the danger of the location of the front license plate when I bought mine, I would have refused delivery, or would have accepted it after they installed a new front bumper and fascia; at the same price for the deal that was negotiated prior to my refusal to accept it as-is.

The only GT Turbo my North Carolina dealer could find that had a 5 Speed (MANDITORY for me to buy) came from a small town 140 miles from here. When it arrived it had the front license plate bracket and his dealership's plate on it. I was so excited to get the car, I didn't say a thing at delivery...my mistake. Dalite is right, the result of taking the bracket off, was four ugly bulging plastic bumps and, ofcourse the holes. I smoothed (worked the plastic back in to the holes with a small straight screw driver) the puckers, and filled the holes with black plugs used on home stereo speakers to plug the banana plug holes. I glued them in with rubber cement, and it looks a "hole" lot better than the ugly license plate bracket. After almost daily wahings, the plugs have stayed in place.
