Default Re: PT gas mileage turbo/non turbo

well this is a strange area as what you said is true
I have a 2006 non turbo, I drive 95% highway , it is true i usually run the car close to 80mph and that is putting the rpm's at 3 or so
I will get right at 22
My drive time is right at 200 miles a day, and the best I have ever gotten was 23, (that was driving both way and keeping it under 60mpg which put the rpm's close to like 2200
I know there are those on here who say they get 30 I wont disagree but I know I don't.
I do think the turbo may actually get better millage, that a non turbo as it has more power to get you up to speed and should be easier on the motor to keep it there.

If you were to ask me Id say you wont be getting 25 but I am 100% that they are some who will say i need to learn to drive but no matter what mine is not going to get over 23.

The other thing is the upkeep is kinda on the high side, the fount bearings usually don't live long the timing belt is a huge expense ( like $1000 and dioing it yourself is a HUGE pain)and it will go right at 100,000 miles
If you like the looks and can live wiht the little qureks then I'd go for it if you want something that getts great MPG's it s not the PT
