Well just remember it's only a guess on my part because "noise" is hard to diagnose over the Internet but those are the two main causes of owners hearing and sometimes feeling that something is wrong from the wheel area. As far as bearings go, if it does turn out to be the wheel bearing, change both sides, not just one. If it's a CV joint you can replace just one.
