Default Re: Check Engine Light came on - code 1188?

Thanks for your help. Yes, I would be happy if I can get away with just that and hope that it was also the cause the bad bog that the dealer acknowledged but could not find which still baffles me to this day. The bog occurs under moderate to hard acceleration and there is like a shotgun blast - the car lurches forward. It's terrible. I scare my wife when it happens when she is in the car. I have been using the 'Search' functionality on this site to track that many other owers of turbos have also experienced something similar although we all call it something different. I have not seen a definitive fix yet for it. I'll let the forum know my outcome. I only take it back to the dealer bc I have an ext warranty that takes me to 100K.

I saw your post with your '87 vette) I have also had several Corvettes (91 ZR1 and 96 LT1 (with mods) in addition to many other cars such as Chevy Avalanche Z71, RX-7 Turbo Cab (turbo was aftermarket) etc and no car has come close to this GT Cruiser. With almost 70K miles on it I have been completely impressed.

To bad Chrysler has ended the Cruiser. They should have offered an AWD version with the Caliber SRT-4 285 HP engine in the cruiser with slightly revised styling. 6 spd auto or 6 spd manual would have provided for better fuel economy?? Oh well.
