I had a choice this past weekend; NHRA or F1. I've been to Joliet a couple times for the NHRA Nationals, so the Indy F1 was next on the list.

An international fan base with Ferrari, BMW, MB (no, not DC) flags all over the place. What an experience.
After the race, we got some food and happened to view the final part of the NASCAR race. Boy, what a contrast in mentalities:
F1: Open-wheeled racing with constantly variable speeds and direction. No wrecks, no payback just a clean, clean race.
NASCAR: Closed-wheel bang, bang cars turning left at a steady rate of speed yet still managing to get wrecked
after the race is OVER!! Ah, WWF marketing............
'Not looking to start an arguement here. Just an observation and some reflection. Did anybody else manage to attend Indy?
