Glad you haven't had any problems in all those miles but many have and Chrysler came out with a TSB telling all the mechanics to change the gap to .040in to solve those problems so we advise anyone who asks to do the same.
Ask 2 people about the aftermarket air filters (Airraid) and you'll get 2 different answers. Some say it improves performance and mileage, others balk at that answer asking for proof. I for one, after adding an open filter noticed that I didn't have the "bog" that happened when I took off from a stand still. It now goes right up to red line if I care to hold down the throttle. Some say I'm loosing torque because the kind I have draws in some warmer air from the engine. I don't notice it, I also don't race from stop light to stop light. On a normal daily driver, like you say you have, i'd leave it alone and keep the filter as clean as you can. Maybe pick up a washable filter (K&N) that lasts 100,000 miles and you can clean it as often as you like to keep fresh clean air coming in.
