Automatic shift speeds (mph)
I have a 2007 Touring, NA and it is the first automatic transmission car I owned (always has standard trans before).
Is there a precise point where the auto trans upshifts to the next gear? Or, does it depend on rpm and/or load (uphill or level).
In normal city driving, it seems to go to 2nd gear abut 10-15 mph; and 3rd about 20-25 mph; but I can't really sense the shifting to 4th especially in traffic (We don't really see traffic-free straightaways around here).
Seems to me in doing a moderate acceleration (under 2000 rpm) it should always shift at the same point on level ground.
I really am satisfied with my PT's gas mileage; but would appreciate any tips or suggestions in making my driving habits more fuel-efficient.
Thanks.
