I would think it has to do with which model radio that came with your PT. Mine has 5 adjustments on the left side for:
Fade, Bal, Bass, Mid, Treb. You couldn't ask for any more control. It plays CD's and cassettes and even before I added my Amp and subwoofer, it was loud enough to bust an eardrum.
