Default Re: Interesting story on bringing the Shuttle home

Neat story.

I've read up on that in the past and it's pretty cool how they piggyback the shuttle home.

Back in July '06 we were on vacation in Orlando and the launch kept being delayed until the 4th, the day we were to drive back to Georgia... I was like "why not?" so we took a detour to the Cape and watched Discovery go up.

Was truly a once in a lifetime experience and I'm glad I got to see it before the shuttles are retired.

As far as flying thrills, I remember moving to Hawaii as a teenager. I took a non-stop flight from Atlanta to Honolulu on 3/27/90 aboard a Lockheed L-1011. The flight was uneventful at around 10 1/2 hours and I'll never forget looking out the window from my wing seat, first at the ocean waves far below and then at the engine saying to myself "please don't quit on me now."

LOL
