You think the tranny learn is a PITA?
Lazy man just lazy. You count, drive and watch your speedo - such hard work. Hard work and 15min time. I did one two weeks ago when we put LiquidPT's car back to stock. Or you pay a dealer $70 for an hours time and they program it. I think one can spare 15-20min?
The injector swap for an 03 isn't fun, but if you make the project worth the time you swap out the metal manifold for the plastic manifold and you just upped your HP more and got rid of a little weight and some heat all in one shot. I will give you this is a PITA job for a novice.
Trans issues have mostly been figured out - don't boost in O/D. You have an auto-stick - drop a gear and hammer it. Doesn't matter if you are S1 or not don't boost in O/D period that is what kills tranny's.
MPG?? that can be argued by a lot of us.. Mostly your MPG figures drop since you can't keep your foot out of it, since you changed the entire attitude of the car. Myself I can get easily in the 20's with an S1 or I can do single digits just depends on how heavy I want my right foot. Gary04GT will say his MPG got better after an S1 install and he's no leadfoot, he just does what he does.
It still comes down to a all-around package for the PT the S1 does a lot. The predator can't do what S1 does, a combination of other mods can't do what S1 does. Its also at this point tried and true, reliable and you know for sure what you are getting when you bolt it in.

When you say O/D, do you mean while the car is in 4th ? So put it in auto mode and then downshift to 3rd, and then stomp it. Just trying to clear that up.
Im not sayin I wont ever get it, but, Im still trying to put together some other things. Its a slow process with me, I hardly ever have the time to work on my car. Im in the process of installing a boost and oil pressure gauge. Got it all figured out except where to get a good source of ignition so when the key is on, the oil pressure gauge comes in. Any ideas ? I know the dimmer switch is the orange wire, so I have the bulbs figured out. Also, found a better place to put a Tee in for the boost line instead of the brake booster line, so got that figured out too. Found something called an oil filter sandwhich adapter with ports for different gauges, or lines, or whatever you want to connect. It mounts between the block and the oil filter, and thats what you mount your gauge to.
After that I can see how much boost I have with the stock setup. I think its supposed to be what, around 12lbs ?
