Stay AWAY from Carmax! I, got a quote on "selling" on one of my previous cars to them...let's just say it was approx. $3000 less than what I got when I sold it privately. If you have a Civic, you should have NO problem whatsoever selling it in the private market for Kelley Blue Book private party value---much HIGHER than trade in value. Well kept Hondas are especially EASY to sell in the private market. Good luck!
