Flash, I got the Autometer mechanical Water Temp gauge installed. You were right is is extremely easy to see what is going on with the cooling system with the mech unit. The factory elec gauge just sits @ midrange, but with the autometer I can see what is goin on at any time. I may be misguided here, but I always thought that it was better for peace of mind as well as diagnostic purposes the have accurate gauges. I currently have the Vac/Boost, EGT, Volts, Water Temp (mech), and Oil Pressure (mech). BTW I was able to find the 1/2" Tee, and an autometer probe adapter at the speed shop. Thanks for the pics and the guidance on installation.I was also able to fabricate a bracket to mount the sensor (Tee setup) beside the engine. I do not use the airbox, so I attached an L shaped bracket to the stud that holds the air box support to the frame and extended the bracket toward the engine. Attached the Tee assy to the bracket, and insulated between the TEE and the bracket so that the bracket would not act as a heat Sync. Used a little longer 3/8" water line (for a gentler loop in the hoses so as not to kink them) to run into and out of the Tee/temp sensor assy. I will try to get some pics to send. [:X]
