Acceleration problems
Yesterday, I was driving back on the interstate when I noticed that my PT Cruiser wasn't accelerating normally. It would get up to about 40-45mph alright but then would just barely work it's way up higher. I would have the pedal almost to the floor but there was very little happening. Usually, if I need to accelerate I can without any problems. I took it my local car repair guy today and he ran several tests and could find nothing wrong. He thinks that I might have gotten some bad gas, which could be the problem because earlier yesterday I had stopped to get about a quarter of a tank. I've put in some gas treatment in hopes of fixing the problem.
If it is a problem with the gas, how long until the gas treatment starts fixing it? And if it turns out to not be the gas, do you have any ideas what could be the problem? Thanks. Oh, and my Cruiser has 92k miles on it.
