Default 2.4L NA Engine Knock
Ever since I purchased my PT (since 73,000 miles, now has 88,500) the engine has always made a knocking noise. Ive always taken very good care of it, use fully synthetic oil at the proper time intervals, and make sure oil levels are good. My friend, who is a mechanic heard the noise, and said that it sounds like a bad piston rod and that it could be very bad... I will be taken it to his shop to have it inspected.

Does anybody else experience this engine knock at all times? Its been like this ever since I purchased it and I didnt really think much of it until now. Am I at high risk?

Any comments appreciated.
