According to the books (Haynes/Chilton) nothing has to be removed (coolant reservoir) to get to the upstream sensor but a special tool should be used. Disconnect the electrical connection first. It's easier if the exhaust manifold is warm when the sensor is replaced and use anti-seize on the threads on the new sensor.
