Back to your question. As QSD said, the Turbo puts a heck of a lot more heat out than the N/A. but I wouldn't think enough to do harm to the hood. The liner is there as a fire blanket where the plastic tabs are supposed to melt and the blanket falls down and helps smother the fire (didn't do Ucantcme, a moderator on this forum, any good as you can see his PT in the above picture).


Also, according to PT Do-It-Yourself.net, the blanket help in reducing underhood noise. I took mine off years ago and I have a permanent stainless steel cover, but it's an N/A.
