The PT is dead. Long live the PT.
I agree that the package of the PT is a pretty good score for Chrysler. Chevy tried with the HHR and couldn't pull it off, IMO. I would love to see a new "Retro Rod" from Chrysler, but it doesn't need to be a PT modernized and hacked just to make it "new".
Look at the Prowler. The Prowler is a vehicle that will always be unmistakeable. (They should have built it with a HEMI
) In a perfect world, cars like the original Viper, Prowler and PT would never go away. They would keep the designed style. They were bold statements in the automotive world. If they want to continue to improve and refine, go for it! Just don't turn something truly original into another "me too" 4-door hatch.
