If the price is good but not unbelievably low, have a certified mechanic check the compression and give it a quick going over.

If the price is too good to be true then I would verify through the VIN number that it isn't a (worst case) a lemon law return, a restored water damaged or an insurance totaled vehicle (in most states, the title is required to show some or all of these conditions).

Hopefully, you are just getting a good deal. Remember that some of the GT's were bought with the $2500 rebate and a dealer discount so that they got into the car at a discount of $3500 or more off of the sticker price. (Unfortunately, many of us didn't so we paid within $600 of sticker.)
