I just bought a FRAM oil fliter that does'nt need to be changed for 10,000 miles. I paid twice as much for it and the advanced technology that came with it.
MY OPIONION.
Irridium, correct.
As to oil filter - particles are one thing, but acids and other contaminants form as a result of combustion, and a filter can't do squat about that.
Also, Fram used to be a good brand, then some years ago it was bought and quality is in the gutter. I use either K&N or Mobil 1 filters and change filter with oil (Mobil 1) every 5,000 miles.
