I always give an old phone number and the only way I'll give you my SSN is if I am ready to complete business. I don't see what a credit check has to do with the price of the car you're selling.

I've given my number in the past and was harassed to no belief with the salesperson even screaming at me why I waisted their time if I didn't want to buy the car right now... yeah screaming at me after YOU called ME? you can just guess how well that went. I'm 6'1 290lbs and German. Yup you guessed it. I went there in person to speak with the salesperson and then their manager. That's why if I want to go look at a car I go with the LeBaron. They really just think that I'd be a waist of time since I'm just driving an 88 chrysler.
