Well I got my car back last night.
They did the body work and also gave it a front end alignment. Thanks for mentioning OEM parts Candyman, that's what I told the guy when I dropped it off last week. He said that the Allstate guy insisted on aftermarket but that I had exercised my option to decline aftermarket parts and go with OEM.
Here's the before and after photos.
I think they did an excellent job. There is nothing I can see that resembles blend lines and they even took out 2 scratches that I had on the right fender and door completely... both were removed, painted and blended and I can't see any abnormalities.
The only thing I noticed is to the left of the right headlight where the bumper meets the fender I have some chipped paint in the seam. To be perfectly honest though it's the least of my concerns right now. The guy told me if I had any issues to bring it back and he'd take care of it.
Now, as far as my boss paying the $500 deductible.. I got shafted. He told me last week that if I didn't call the cops on his nephew that he would pay my deductible.
Tuesday he said "When your car is done have them fax me an invoice and I'll give you a check."
Yesterday they called, I got the invoice, and he gave me the check with the comment "How much do you want taken out of your check each week?"
I was baffled, and I said "I thought we agreed that you would pay it if I kept my mouth shut?"
He replied "I know what I told you but I decided that it would be better if you paid me back."
So when you do the math on it, I'm patting his nephew on the back saying "it's ok that you hit my car causing $2000 damage, I'll pay $500 out of my pocket just please don't do it again."
It's a total crock, and I've lost all respect for the man after he told me one thing and did another.. They are deducting $40 per week out of my check for the next 3 months. Personally, I could give a rats arse about the $500, it's the point that he went back on his word to me.
I guess it's to be expected though from someone who is rich... my car has been repaired with the evidence gone so he changed his mind.
