The problem with making kits that use the factory wiring is that usually, factory fog lamps run at about 27-32 Watts. The minimum that all of ours, and most all fog and driving lamps run at is 55 Watts, which means that results would be unpredictable and may even be dangerous.
The Micro DE would be a good lamp to use.We sell this lamp to Toyota for the 4Runner fog lamps (on the last generation, not the newest one), as well as other OEs.These lamps are made of Magnesium, but in the very near future, Hella-KG is going to start making them from aluminum.
I have not put any lamps on the car yet, but the headlamps and the tail lamps are made by Hella (Hella Mexico I think).
As far as mounting, you can mount the DEs in that location, and then maybe cover them using one of the cheap colored or smoked fog lamp shields that I have seen online to fill the gaps.
