Anything that reduces the air resistance going into the turbo will help. The real question is how much resistance do the silencers add? The real culprit I would think is the stock air filter. I never tried just removing the silencers. I went from the stock set-up to the cold air intake. While I didn't do any formal dyno measuring...I believe I gained more performance increase doing that than putting the dual exhausts on.
