Nothing you do short of taking the engine apart, will automatically void the warranty. If however, something goes wrong with your PT and the dealer can prove that what you added had some negative affect that caused the problem, then your warranty claim for that particular part would not be covered. Example: If you lowered your car to the point it was rubbing something and your tie rod broke, they would not cover it or any part of the suspension, but your engine and drive train would still be covered under warranty. Probably 98% of us have gone to an aftermarket filter with no warranty problem at all.
