If you got an oil temp somewhere ,somehow you'd need to find out the "normal" operating range of the oil. EGT is a good choice but only if you choose to believe the woefully pathetic factory water -temp . You know what I have in my car to me the mechanical water temp is one of my most valuable tools . I wish I'd got an EGT but don't know what I'd remove. I figure the EGT and the air fuel are roughly accomplishing the same thing in a turbo based motor. That being said I would say water temp is still my personal choice .
