The piggy-back gimmicks, such as JET, are a waste of time and money.I tried one on one of my Dakota R/Ts, and like many of the other guys that had them, I actually *SLOWED DOWN* at the track by about 2 tenths. The piggy-backs only show any gains, if any, at partial throttle. They basically alter the readings that the vehicle sensors report back to the computer, and at Wide Open Throttle, the computer reverts back to it's static data tables and doesn't even look at the sensors.
Also, there has never been any company that has come up with a way to produce a device to do a re-flash or any kind of way to tune the computer. This would be ideal, as it would allow you to do virtually any mod, and alter the computer to work with it, but alas it's the Holy Grail for us.Everything we do to our cars, the computer tries to go around to get it's 'ideal' results.unfortunately for us, the computer's idea of 'ideal results' means making it do what it did the day you bought it.No more, no less.
