I think the best person to answer this one is Dalite, But I will give it a shot.
When you reset the computer and reconnect it, it goes into a learning
mode. and will set up to the factory parameters making more effective the mods. The catch if you do it like in the pictures instead of removing the negative cable is that there is an order to disconnect/reconnect them. For disconnecting you have to go from left to right. To reconnect you have to go from right to left or the computer may throw codes.
I noticed this when I installed the BTG exhaust. The car with the factory muffler made 14 PSI and then drop to 12 PSI. When the exhaust was replace by the BTG, The boost went to 12 PSI and then dropped to 10 or 9 PSI and the car felt slower... I went ahead and removed the negative cable from the batery for a few minutes and when reconnected, it was a road rocket!!! after that I connected the A'PEXi and it was amazing!!!. 14.01 at the strip!!!
Maybe it was a SNAFU and maybe you don't have to reset the computer but for me, it worked!
