Default Tire Size for a 2002PT

I have the recommended stock sized tires on my 2002 PT, but hate the size of the sidewall profile, because of all of the wheel well that shows above the tires. I think 70 series tires would look alot better, however I am well aware that this is not recommended because it will screw up the calibration for your speedometer, for one thing.

I really don't want to go to the expense of changing out the springs for lowering springs to lessen the gap. Has anyone ever put 70-series tires on their PT and is there a way to recalibrate the speedometer to compensate for this? Are there any other major concerns or reasons why you wouldn't want to do this? I was just curious about this, and wondered if anyone could tell me what some of the other implications would be, other than the speedometer accuracy.

Thanks,
Steve
