If you remove the filter No aditional oil will escape. If you look at it closer you will se that it is not conected to the crankcase. It is an oil cooler/filter, There are two lines conected to it, one goes to the fuel pump and the other one goes to the turbo bearing cartridge, then to the engine.

When I changed the oil last week, I first removed the filter, a few drops fell for a while but then it stopped. Then, I proceded to open the oil crankcase bolt and let all the black crap out of there. Cosed it after three hours of dripping, replaced the filter and filled with Mobil 1.
